About S2 Split Taper Lock Bushing

CTS® S2 Split Bushing

The S2 split taper bushing is designed for gearmotor, conveyor, fan, elevator, and mixer shafts where a secure, reliable connection is important.

The S2 split taper bushing has the same 4.625" outside diameter and bolt circle as the S1 split taper bushing, so an S1 hub can accept an S2 without changing the hub. The longer body provides deeper engagement, while standard bore sizes are available up to 4-3/16". This makes the S2 suitable for larger shafts that require stronger holding power.

Three 1/2" cap screws tightened to 840 in-lbs provide strong clamping force to help prevent shaft slip and fretting. The 19 lb cast iron body features a precision-machined taper, allowing the split bushing to grip the shaft evenly and helping the hub run accurately.

Standard Browning-style size: Direct interchange with Browning S2 and Martin S2.

Selection range: Bore sizes from 1-7/8" to 4-3/16", with a maximum torque rating of 840 in-lbs. See the technical table above for complete dimensions and specifications.
