Description

About ANSI #60H Heavy Duty Cottered Roller Chains

The ANSI #60H cottered roller chain is the heavy-duty, field-serviceable version of the #60 chain: 3/4" (19.05 mm) pitch with extra-thick 3.25 mm side plates and cotter-pin assembly for fast on-site installation and repair.

The standard #60 cottered chain uses 2.42 mm plates and weighs about 1.50 kg/m; the #60H uses 3.25 mm plates — about 34% more plate steel — at 1.87 kg/m, with a minimum tensile strength of 31.8 kN (7,227 lbf).

Its cotter-pin assembly means every link can be opened with simple hand tools: pull the cotter, remove the pin, and the chain separates. No rivet cutting, no special press. Maintenance crews can replace a damaged section, adjust length, or join chains on site, which is why cottered #60H is widely specified for agricultural machinery, heavy conveying, bulk grain and feed handling, elevators, mixers, and other equipment with high starting loads or dusty operating conditions.

FAQs

#60 cottered vs #60H cottered — what's the difference?*
Same 3/4" pitch and roller geometry; the #60H has thicker side plates (3.25 mm vs 2.42 mm) and higher mass (1.87 kg/m vs 1.50 kg/m), so it suits heavier shock loads and longer life expectations.
Which sprockets fit with 60H Cottered Roller Chain?
Standard #60 sprockets — pitch is 19.05 mm, matching the ANSI #60 series.
