About CA960 Agricultural Chain

The CA960 is the heavy-duty member of the CA-type steel agricultural chain family. It runs on a 41.4 mm pitch with a 17.78 mm roller — the same centre distances as a CA550 — but other dimensions are built larger. The number that matters most is tensile strength: 66.00 kN (15,160 lbf). That is roughly 1.7 times the 39.1 kN of a CA550, CA555 or CA620, and about 19 percent more than the 55.61 kN of a CA557. A CA960 also weighs 6.94 kg per metre.


In plain terms: a CA960 is the chain you fit when a standard CA-type chain keeps stretching, jumping teeth or breaking before the end of the season, and when the machine has the space and the sprockets to carry a heavier chain.

Why is the CA960 so much heavier than a CA550?
